Having seen the recent destruction in the US caused by a series of tornadoes - this Brit is wondering about the proliferation of wood built homes in the US which, seemingly, offer no protection to life or possessions.  Having seen even whole towns flattened, I do wonder too if the US construction industry cannot come up with a better solution for you guys, who year-on-year, suffer these tornado seasons in what seems, to me, matchstick-constructed properties....
